  • Claude's audience is high stakes. Investors, procurement teams, hiring managers, and journalists use Claude for work research. A wrong answer here shapes a real decision, not idle curiosity. Why it gets you wrong
  • Two failure modes, one fix. Stale training data repeats old issues; live web search surfaces whatever ranks today. Both are driven by sources, so the fix is source-level work. What we do

What is Claude reputation management?

The short answer

Claude reputation management is the practice of auditing and improving what Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, says about a person or business. Claude forms answers from two places: its training data, a snapshot of the web that can lag reality, and, when it searches, live web results it cites. There is no switch anyone can flip to edit an answer. What actually works is changing the material Claude draws from: removing or de-indexing false sources, publishing authoritative content it prefers to cite, and strengthening the entity signals that tell it who you are.

The Claude problem, and how Reputation Resolutions fixes it

When a researcher, an investor, or a reporter asks Claude who runs your company and whether you're credible, it answers in a few sentences drawn partly from training data and partly, when web search is on, from whatever it retrieves live. A stale fact, a resolved controversy, or a same-named person can surface as though it were settled truth, and Anthropic offers no public tool that lets you edit what Claude says. The claim simply keeps coming back until the sources behind it change.

So we begin with a free audit built around the prompts real researchers use, documenting Claude's answers word for word and, where possible, testing both modes, with web search on and off, because a stale training-data answer and a bad live-retrieval answer need different treatment. Under the hood Anthropic separates the content used to train Claude from the pages it reads live, and runs distinct crawlers for each (ClaudeBot for training, Claude-SearchBot for its search index, and Claude-User when Claude opens a page you asked about), which is why fixing a source can move a live answer within weeks while a training-data answer waits for the next model. Then we work where the leverage actually is, the sources: each false or damaging claim gets traced to the specific pages feeding it, content that violates a platform's policies gets removed or de-indexed, and what can't be removed gets suppressed beneath accurate, authoritative material we create, citation-ready pages, structured data, and consistent profiles that give the model something better to draw from. We also strengthen your entity signals so Claude stops confusing you with similarly named people or companies, and where a formal privacy removal mechanism applies to false or private personal data we use it, though the durable fix is always the source layer.

The result is a description of you that holds up, and because answers grounded in live search shift as the web changes while training-data answers update only when models are retrained, we keep re-testing on a schedule and address new inaccuracies as they appear. Expect weeks to months, not days. The audit is free, and removal fees are collected only after a removal is confirmed.

Why Claude Gets You Wrong

Stale memory, bad sources, or both

Its training data is a snapshot

Claude's baseline knowledge comes from training data that can trail reality by months or more. A lawsuit that settled, a review problem you resolved, a role you left: until models are retrained and the web reflects the update, the old version can keep surfacing.

Live search surfaces whatever ranks

When Claude searches the web, it summarizes and cites what currently ranks for your name. If a defamatory post, a false complaint, or a hit piece sits near the top of those results, it can walk straight into Claude's answer.

It can mistake you for a namesake

Thin or inconsistent entity signals leave the model guessing. People and companies with similar names get blended into a single answer, and you can inherit someone else's baggage word for word.

One source can own the summary

Claude compresses a whole reputation into a few sentences. A single damaging article carries far more weight in that compression than it ever would on a full page of search results.

What We Do

How we repair your reputation on Claude

Audit Claude's answers

We run the prompts a diligence researcher would run, document the answers word for word, test with and without web search where possible, and log every cited source.

Remove and suppress false sources

Claims trace to pages. We remove or de-index sources that violate platform policies, and suppress the rest under stronger, accurate material.

Anthropic's reporting route

Where a Claude output violates Anthropic's usage policies or the law, we use its content-reporting form and in-product reporting. Where you own the source page, site-owner controls (noindex, robots.txt, and blocking Anthropic's crawlers) govern whether it feeds Claude. Real but limited levers, they cannot touch a page you don't control, so the source layer stays the durable fix.

Publish citation-ready content

We build authoritative pages, profiles, and structured data that answer the questions people ask Claude, giving the model better material to draw from than the content hurting you.

Strengthen entity signals & monitor

We make your identity unambiguous so Claude stops blending you with namesakes, then keep re-testing as models and indexes refresh.

The Process

Our Claude reputation repair process

  1. 01

    Free Claude audit

    Know what they see.

We ask Claude what investors, employers, and partners would ask about you and capture its answers verbatim, including cited sources. Free, and eye-opening.

  2. 02

    Diagnose each claim

    Stale, live, or confused.

For every false or damaging statement, we determine whether it's coming from stale training data, live retrieval, or entity confusion, because each needs a different fix.

  3. 03

    Fix the source layer

    Change what it reads.

Removals and de-indexing for policy-violating content, suppression for the rest, new authoritative citation-ready content, and hardened entity signals. Formal privacy requests where a mechanism genuinely applies.

  4. 04

    Monitor across refreshes

    Make it stick.

Search-grounded answers move as the web changes; training-data answers move when models retrain. We re-test on a cadence until the corrected answer holds.

Honest Timelines

Honest timelines

No honest firm quotes one number for everything. The timeline depends on the type of work, so these are the real ranges we quote by scenario, and you get a case-specific estimate in writing before you commit to anything.

Weeks
Search-grounded answers, after a source is removed

Once a false page is removed or de-indexed, answers that rely on live web search improve as search indexes catch up. This is usually the fastest visible change.

Weeks to months
Suppression and new authoritative content

Content we publish has to be crawled, indexed, and rank before Claude reliably draws on it. Suppression of stubborn sources builds over the same window.

Model refresh cycles
Training-data answers

Answers baked into training data change only when models are retrained on a fresher snapshot. Fixing the sources now is what makes the next snapshot accurate.

Case by case
Truthful reporting from reputable outlets

Accurate journalism generally cannot be removed. Where de-indexing criteria are met we pursue them; otherwise the play is suppression and stronger current coverage.

Claude Reputation FAQs

Claude Reputation Management, Without the Hype.

The same answers we give every client during a free Claude audit.

It's the work of auditing what Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, says about you or your company, tracing each claim to the web sources behind it, and then correcting those sources: removing or de-indexing content that violates platform policies, suppressing what can't be removed, publishing authoritative content the model prefers to cite, and strengthening entity signals so it describes the right you. Because Claude is heavily used in professional and enterprise workflows, its answers reach investors, procurement teams, and hiring managers, which makes accuracy here matter more than on a casual chatbot.

Ask it the way someone vetting you would: "Who is [your name]?", "Is [your company] reputable?", "What should I know before doing business with [your company]?" Where possible, test both with web search enabled and without it, because those two modes can give different answers with different problems. Note anything false or outdated and which sources Claude cites. Our free audit does this systematically and maps every claim to its origin.

Usually one of four reasons. Its training data is a snapshot that can lag reality, so resolved issues keep resurfacing. Its live web search reflects whatever currently ranks, including false or defamatory content. It can confuse you with a similarly named person or company when your entity signals are thin. And its short summaries let one damaging source dominate in a way it never would in full search results. Each cause has a different fix, which is why the audit diagnoses before we prescribe.

There is no public channel for editing an individual Claude answer, nothing like correcting a business listing, and anyone who claims otherwise is selling something. Anthropic does provide a content-reporting form and an in-product report button for outputs that violate its usage policies or the law, and if you own the website a claim comes from you can control whether Claude uses it through noindex tags, robots.txt, and blocking Anthropic's crawlers. We use these where they genuinely fit. But their limits are real: reporting is not an edit button, and you cannot block a page you do not own. The reliable lever is still the material Claude draws from, its sources and your entity signals, and the durable fix, the one that survives model updates, is making the web itself say the right thing about you.

Both, and the difference decides the fix. Part of Claude's knowledge comes from its training data, a large snapshot of public web content gathered by Anthropic's crawler (ClaudeBot), which only changes when a new model is trained. The rest comes from live web search, where Claude uses a search index (built by Claude-SearchBot) and can open specific pages in the moment (via Claude-User). A false live-search answer can improve within weeks once the underlying source is fixed; a false training-data answer holds until Anthropic retrains on a fresher snapshot. Our audit tests both modes so we know which one is talking before we prescribe a fix.

The models have different training snapshots and different search and citation behavior, so what Claude gets wrong about you often differs from what ChatGPT gets wrong, and each needs its own audit. The underlying strategy is the same: no one can edit either model directly, so you fix the sources they read. Most clients have us audit both, along with Gemini, since the same cleaned-up sources improve every model. See our ChatGPT reputation management service for how we handle that platform specifically.

Usually not, and we'll tell you that upfront. Accurate reporting from reputable outlets generally cannot be removed. What we can do is pursue de-indexing where legal or policy criteria are genuinely met, suppress the article under stronger current coverage, and publish authoritative material that gives Claude fuller, more recent context so one old story stops defining the whole answer.

Plan on weeks to months, and be skeptical of anyone promising faster. Answers grounded in live web search improve as sources are removed and new content gets indexed, often within weeks. Answers baked into training data change only when models are retrained on a fresher snapshot of the web, which happens on Anthropic's schedule, not ours. We monitor throughout and re-test until the corrected answer holds.

The audit is free. Content removals carry no upfront fee; you pay only after a removal is confirmed. Broader engagements, suppression, authoritative content, entity work, and monitoring, are quoted based on how many sources are involved and whether we're fixing a person, a company, or both. You'll see the full scope and price before committing to anything.
