About Our Services
Professional Content Removal Services You Can Trust
Content removal is the process of permanently eliminating negative or defamatory web pages from search engine results and source websites. Since 2013, Reputation Resolutions has helped thousands of individuals and businesses take back control of what appears when someone searches their name.
Reputation Resolutions specializes in permanently removing negative content from Google and websites across the internet. Our content removal team uses a combination of legal strategies (DMCA notices, defamation demand letters, GDPR and CCPA right-to-be-forgotten and right-to-delete requests), technical approaches (de-indexation, search engine suppression), and direct publisher negotiation to eliminate damaging articles, unfair reviews, unauthorized images, exposed personal information, and other harmful content from search results. Not just push it to page two.
There is a distinction most people miss: removing content at the source (getting the page itself taken down or the review deleted) makes it disappear everywhere, while de-indexing only hides it from Google, the page still exists and can resurface. Google also offers its own tools, the 'Results about you' tool for personal information, the Refresh Outdated Content removal tool, and its legal-removal request form, but those only affect the Google listing, not the underlying page, and Google approves them only in specific cases (such as doxxing, explicit imagery, financial or ID numbers, or genuinely outdated pages). We pursue removal at the source first for a permanent fix, then use de-indexing and Google's own removal channels as complements, not substitutes. And while the EU and UK 'right to be forgotten' does not apply to Google.com for people in the US, US law still provides real levers, DMCA, defamation, and Google's personal-information and policy removals, that we combine to get the durable result.
Reputation Resolutions pioneered the pay-for-results model in online reputation management, which means you pay nothing upfront and are only billed after each piece of content is successfully removed. Whether you’re dealing with defamatory news articles, fake reviews on Google or Glassdoor, unauthorized images, court records on UniCourt or Trellis, or social media attacks on Reddit, X, or TikTok, we have served over 5,000 clients across 40+ countries over 13+ years and we apply that experience to every new case we take on.
A large share of what damages a search result is not an article at all but exposed personal information: home addresses, phone numbers, relatives, and financial or ID details scraped onto data-broker and people-search sites like Spokeo, Whitepages, BeenVerified, and Radaris. We remove these listings at the broker level and clear the search results that point to them. Because we work independently of the sites, publishers, and brokers that host the content, our only incentive is getting it taken down for you, never quietly steering you toward a service that leaves the content live. Before any engagement begins, we give you a candid removability assessment on every item, including an honest no when content is true, lawful, and hosted by a publisher with no policy violation, so you never pay for a promise we cannot keep.
In 2026, content removal is more complex than ever. AI-powered search tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity now surface negative content in new ways, and traditional suppression tactics alone are no longer enough. Reputation Resolutions stays ahead of these changes by targeting both the source content and the downstream AI systems that reference it.

FAQ
Common Questions About Content Removal
We remove defamatory articles, fake or policy-violating reviews, unauthorized images and videos, mugshots, court and arrest records, data-broker listings, and harmful social posts. What we cannot ethically promise to remove is content that is true, lawful, and hosted by a publisher with no policy violation, for example an accurate news story from a major outlet. In those cases we tell you upfront and shift to de-indexing or suppression instead. You get an honest yes-or-no on every item during the free consultation, not a blanket promise.
Removal deletes the page from the source website so it is gone entirely. De-indexing leaves the page live but removes the URL from Google's search index so it no longer appears in results. Suppression keeps the content live and indexed but pushes it below the results people actually see by out-ranking it with stronger content. We always pursue true removal first, use de-indexing when the source will not delete but Google's criteria are met, and reserve suppression for lawful content that cannot be removed by any other route.
Both, and that distinction matters. Deleting a page at the source does not always clear it from Google right away, and de-indexing a URL does not delete the underlying page. We work both ends: removal or takedown at the source, plus the correct Google removal request so the result actually disappears from search. A removal is not counted as complete until it is gone from both places.
It depends entirely on the content type and who controls it. Data-broker and directory listings often clear in one to two weeks. Review and platform removals typically run two to six weeks. Article and court-record cases that require publisher negotiation or legal escalation can take 30 to 90 days. We give you a case-specific timeline before any work begins, not a vague industry range.
There is no upfront fee. Payment for each piece of content is due only after that specific item is confirmed removed from both the source and search results. If a given item cannot be removed, you owe nothing for it. This is the core of how we are structured and it is why we only take cases we believe we can win.
Most removals are permanent. Some content, particularly reposted images or syndicated articles, can resurface on new URLs. Every engagement includes a period of monitoring, and if a removed item reappears we remove it again at no additional cost under our re-removal commitment. We tell you which category your content falls into so expectations are set honestly.
AI answer engines draw from indexed web content. When we remove or de-index the underlying source, AI models lose access to it as they refresh their data, so the claim stops being repeated over time. This is slower and less predictable than a standard search removal because each model updates on its own schedule, and we are honest about that rather than promising an instant fix.
Yes. Every engagement is covered by a non-disclosure agreement from first contact. We do not disclose client identities, case details, or even the fact that you contacted us. For sensitive matters such as leaked private content, the entire process is handled discreetly and, where needed, urgently.
